Do You Like Capers?

Recently, PartySugar surprised me with a delicious mini-bagel with cream cheese, lox, and capers. It was a nice treat and really hit the spot. The capers were a particularly nice touch and it got me wondering, do you like capers?

I tasted a dish with capers in it and I vommited instantly. I have never done that. I can't think of anything I despise other than capers. That is the most putrid flavor I have ever tasted.

Love them. Not something you eat alone. They add an interesting flavor to food such as pasta or pan sauces. I am fascinated by PJ's suggested of toasting them!

I only have them in lox-and-cream-cheese bagels, and I do love them like that.

The first time I made a dish with them for my husband, he went "Wow, I really like these peas!". :P We still call them peas :).

My mother puts them in our tamales mmm so good. I could never imagine have a salt tamale without one!

My favorite way to eat capers is when they are toasted. They are so good on a salad that way. I would never have thought to toast them until I had toasted capers on my caesar salad, in some Texas restaurant. The waitress talked me into it & I'm so grateful to her. You can toast them on a lightly greased tray, at 300 degrees, for about 5 minutes or until they get crispy. Such crispy salty yumminess!

i'm not really a fan of capers but i don't HATE them. i think that i've had them in a few different things, and they aren't my thing. after seeing the first episode of hell's kitchen though, when gordon threw up capers - i don't know if i'll want to have them again.
