Do You Like to Eat at the Bar?

I'm a big fan of bars, and not just for drinking. If I'm dining alone or on a date, I love to eat at a restaurant's bar. It's cozy and intimate, and I enjoy being able to place my entire meal order with the bartender. How about you?

I have only recently discovered my love for eating at the bar. Such a great way to meet people and feel like you are part of the experience. Plus, if you get to know the bartenders, free drinks never hurt either. :-)

I'd really prefer not to eat at the bar. They all seem to have the most uncomfortable stools and short tables. I am a tall girl, I need room. I think I'm just weird because I need to cross my legs, and at bars, they are too short to do that ;)

i love to eat at the bar because it just seem more cozy, but my bf hates it, the 'no personal space' thing.

I like it if the bar isn't too crowded and busy - and if sitting at the bar still lets you order from the whole menu. It's a fun change of pace and usually we get seated a lot faster if we sit at the bar, so why not?

As long as no one is smoking at the bar, I absolutely enjoy eating a meal there. It's great for casually watching sports games and eating with friends or just a quick bite.

i prefer not to, but if i do, i would like to sit on a corner so that my partner and i can still be facing each other somewhat (it's similar to sitting beside one another at a square table)...but if there are seats available, i'd prefer to sit in them...i also prefer to sit in a normal seat rather than one of those tall bar tables, but i'll do it in certain restaurants if the bar is a cooler atmosphere or if there's a huge wait for the dining room

i personally don't but my husband does. he always thinks that we should eat at the bar rather than wait for a table. my only issue is that it's already so cramped with people who are trying to get drinks most of the time that it's a pain in the butt to have to sit there and enjoy your meal with armpits in your face.

I love to eat at bars.. i find it a more social experience. you get to chat up the bartender and perhaps even some of the other bar patrons. For an intimate/romantic dinner, of course I would prefer a quiet table...

No. I like chairs, not stools and I do not like to chat with waiters/bartenders. I don't always go to the restaurant just to eat, I go for the whole experience sometimes. And eating at the bar is not a pleasant experience for me. I'd rather go to a different restaurant if there aren't any tables available or just wait for a table to become available.

I hate eating at the bar. I've done it a couple times and it always feels weird but one of my fav restaurants can be really busy at times and that's the only seat available so I suck it up and deal

No, I'd rather eat and interact with the people I came to the restaurant with. At the bar, there are too many distractions. The only exception would be if I were with a big group of people that all wanted to watch a major sports game...then I wouldn't mind sitting at the bar and watching the game together.

It depends on the restaurant and who I'm with. I would totally eat at the bar pictured above, but I'd prefer to sit at a table if it's a casual restaurant or if I'm not with my husband. I don't enjoy it when strange men assume that I'm out on the prowl just because they are.

i do, depending on the circumstances. i would never on a first date, but with a bf or a friend, why not? you can usually make some new friends up there!

it can be a totally different dining experience, lets you interact more with staff and other patrons, and most places offer the full menu at the bar so why not?
