Those are my hands in the picture, I love to get dirty when I cook! My mom always says that when I was a baby, I was that one who threw sand all over herself at the beach.

I don't like to get dirty at all. I wore latex gloves last night to handle raw chicken.

When I first read this I thought it meant getting dirty like having sex while cooking and then I was intrigued, haha. Like, hmmm.. never thought to do that before..

But yeah, why not get dirty? It's half the fun of cooking. As long as you wash your hands between working with items it's all good.

I love using my hands. There's no nationwide shortage of soap, so I don't mind having to wash up after cooking.

it all depends on what i'm having. i think that if it's baking then it's fine since it's nothing 'gross' but since i'm a vegetarian, i don't like to get all dirty with meat/fish and things like that - it's just not a pleasant feeling.

I hate it. It doesn't stop me from doing things which require handling messy foods, but it kind of grosses me out the whole time, and I am constantly washing my hands and trying to scrape whatever it is out from under my fingernails. Ew.

I've always been this way though -- I was the kid who refused to finger-paint or scoop out a pumpkin because it was too messy.

I don't go trying to get dirty but when necessary and the best way to get the job done, it is fine. It doesn't gross me out at all and often the most effective method.

It depends, although it is annoying to have been handling raw meat and then have to do three or four things right after all the while trying to turn the faucet on with my elbow and get soap out without using my hands or fingers.

That's usually when I call for hubby help! Eye-wink

I don't really like to get my hands on egg-y or meat-y. It's kind of gross and then I end up having trouble getting soap out of the dispenser without contaminating the dispenser. You know what I'm talkin' about, right?

Not a matter of loving it or hating it - getting dirty while cooking just happens. And by getting dirty I mean I expect to have dirty hands, dirty dishes and dirty counters when preparing food.

However, since my dad went to culinary academy after his military time he drilled it into my head to 'clean as I cook'. Apparently, out of 5 children I am the only one to hear, comprehend and obey this instruction from my dad. My sister cannot understand how I managed to cook her entire Thanksgiving meal including a cheesecake, red velvet cake and coconut cake as well as homemade rolls and pumpkin pie and the rest of the meal and there was never a dish in the sink or a mess on the floor or counter tops. She said I'm a genie.

I'm not to keen on it. I'm an obsessive hand-washer so that's probably why. When I'm making something in the kitchen, you will find me with wet wipes in hand, just to wipe out any mess, too. I am completely anti-mess.

I'm a chemist. In chemistry, we are careful to never get our hands dirty (because its dangerous!). Since my cooking habits are kind of an extension of my chemistry skills, I generally keep my hand pretty clean. But sometimes, hands really are the best tool.

It does depend on what I'm making. I also cannot stand a dirty kitchen. I've been known to make a huge mess with flour and suger everywhere, but it's cleaned up as soon as prep is done...sometimes I'll stop mid-prep and do a mini-clean up.

I don't mind getting my hands dirty with butter or grease, or meat, or whatever else, but I do find that I wash them every time I go to touch something other than the food item getting me dirty. That has me washing my hands A LOT when I have to "handle" a food to prepare it.

I hate to get stuff on my hands! My husband says that's why I'd make a lousy mechanic...I don't mind all the machinery stuff, but I do NOT LIKE getting things on my hands. If I'm cooking and I absolutely have to get my hands dirty, I wash them off right away. If I could wear latex gloves while I cooked, I probably would, lol.

I dislike handling raw meat...I try my hardest not to have to put my hands in it. That's the only time I find myself getting "dirty" is when it comes to meat. When I bake, I get flower on myself which I don't mind really.
