Peanut Butter: Love It or Hate It?

Whether it's sandwiched between two pieces of white bread and grape jelly or oozing out of a melty chocolate shell, peanut butter is one of life's simple pleasures. Peanut butter is so delicious, it has its own holiday, which happens to be today: happy National Peanut Butter Day! To celebrate, make peanut butter cookies, pudding, or blondies. But before you do, tell me in the comments, are you a fan of the smooth and creamy (or crunchy!) spread?

love it - i used to get random peanut butter kicks where i would eat it from the jar. but now i can't have it, peanuts give me cystic acne =[

Natural peanut butter can be found with only peanuts and salt. Peanut butter has about 9 grams of protein per servings as almond butter only has 1. Cashew butter has around 2 grams of protein.

I have a love hate relationship with PB. sometimes I am a fiend for it another other times I'll avoid it for weeks. -shrug- depends on my mood. but i have been enjoying homemade almond butter :)

LOVE it. But it has to be creamy. I also love almond butter, but again no chunks!

I'll take it anyway but in PB&J sammy. Love to cook with it and my hubby and dogger don't skip a day without noshing it together. As for the other butters, I make them all except for p'nut and do eat them in a sammy - go figure! Nutella is quite tasty too, you know! :drool:

I'm going to get flogged for this, but I kind of don't like it. I'll eat it, and sometimes even buy it, but I don't really have a huge affinity for it.

My boyfriend LOVES anything peanut butter, but hates chocolate (don't ask me). I'm neutral to pb by itself, but I do make an asian peanut sauce that uses peanut butter which is awesome.

Love it smooth, like me. If I have to chew it, I'd prefer to eat peanuts.

Like crunchy, loooooove creamy. A toasted pb, banana and BACON sandwich is the breakfast (or lunch, or dinner) of champions. As for the nut butter dilemma, almond butter tends to be the healthier of the two. It usually contains just almonds (a good source of heart healthy fat) and maybe a bit of salt. Peanut butter, however, usually has added hydrogenated oil (the not-good-for-the-heart fat) as well as added sugar. Both are good sources of protein, though.

Love it. I eat about a spoonful a day. Holds me over when my stomach is growly but I dont want to eat anything that could make me feel too full...I'm partial to TJ's Valencia PB with Flaxseeds - it's crunchy and delish Seperate but related question - I haven't really tried many other nut butters, but is there any advantage to eating, say almond butter to PB? Is one healthier than the other in terms of vitamins/protein/etc?
