yes, i love tomotoes. it's funny - i used to HATE them with a passion but now they are one of the staple foods in my diet. thank goodness that the ban has been lifted due to salmonila cause that was getting to be hard for me.
I love cooked tomatoes but raw ones just don't sit well with me...it's a texture thing. My husband and I are growing a bumper crop this year and we plan to can our own sauce and salsa for this winter. :)
Mostly I only like them cooked down in sauce for pasta or pizza, the only way I like them raw is in what my dad calls Summer Salad - grilled, peeled Cubanelle peppers, cut up tomatoes and finely chopped garlic in oil and vinegar.
i love tomato EVERYTHING. Caprese salad, tomato sandwiches, salsas & sauces. cooked, raw...it doesn't matter. the funny thing is that i never used to like them as a kid (except as pasta sauce & ketchup).i even LOVE the way the leaves on tomato plants smell!

I hate them in every way. I don't even like tomato sauce on pasta. THe only thing I kinda like is salsa if it's real garlicky. I know, I know I am weird. I even hated them as a child.
No no nooooo. My dad always teases me - "How can you be Italian and not like tomatoes?!" - but I just can't do it. I think its the gooey seeds. I like tomato sauce, but I don't eat any chunks. Just not for me.
I've been making roasted ones like mad lately; a little olive oil, S&P and then fresh herb springs if I have them. It takes a couple hours to make them and about 10 minutes for the bf to eat 4 tomatoes. Tomatoes also make a grilled cheese.
I only like home grown off the vine super red tomatoes or the small grape tomatoes. I won't touch an orange tomato or eat them in the wintertime, I've been like this since I was little.
I love tomatoes!! I'm a Jersey girl, and NOTHING compares to a fresh ripe New Jersey tomato (right off the vine, still warm from the sun.. oh man). They are amazing and taste like sunshine. I love tomatoes in all forms, cooked or raw, grape or heirloom. But I only eat tomatoes when they're in season! Those sickly peach-y colored tomatoes in the grocery store in the winter are terrible and they tarnish the name tomato. Did you know that they gas green tomatoes to turn them red? That's why the color isn't natural-looking - and why they taste so bad!
love, love love. But if they are raw, I prefer the gooey crap taken out (or for it to be minimal.)
Raw with some Maldon salt is nice, or a drizzle of balsamic and olive oil.
But really I am a cooked tomato person..passatas, peeled, chopped, spiced, in salsas, sauces, soups....as far as cooking goes I consider it absolutely essential.
