Do You Measure Salt and Pepper?

I'm a huge fan of recipes, and while I love adapting them, I equally enjoy following the exact instructions. However, the other day I had a random realization: I never measure salt or pepper. Even if a recipe calls for a specific amount, I prefer to season to taste. How about you? Do you take the time to measure salt and pepper if a recipe calls for it?

I never use salt, but no I don't measure pepper. I always pepper to taste.

I practice baking-avoidance because nobody could possibly suck at it to the extent that I do. For cooking, I never measure anything. I'm strictly a toss-and-throw kinda gal!

Measure when baking, because you should. For cooking, I just season to taste.

I only measure salt when baking. Re: pepper, rarely, unless I get a very large amount specified. Then I'll measure it. For instance, if I'm making a stew and it calls for something like 1-1/2 tablespoons of black pepper, I'll measure it out and pour it in. Otherwise, I'll eyeball it and season to taste.

Yeah....baking is more of an exact science, so I measure everything when I'm baking. Cooking is more about your taste preferences, so I don't always measure them. :shrug:
