Do You Pair Fried Foods With Mayonnaise?

I just got back from Spain, where I enjoyed a lot of fried fish and French fries. I'm not ashamed to admit that I always paired them with mayonnaise. There's something about European mayonnaise that's absolutely divine. How about you?

Mayonnaise is so nasty. I've never liked it on anything...I can tolerate it in tuna salads or things like that. My husband likes homemade mayonnaise with fries or on BLTs, but neither of us are crazy about the Hellmann's jarred variety.

Lots of my Hispanic friends used to mix ketchup and mayonnaise to dip their fries in, I used to think it was pretty weird...until I tried it. It's tangy and creamy and enhances the crispy goodness even more... it's love. :)

I've never dipped my fried foods with plain mayo--but definitely mayo-based sauces!

i cannot abide by plain mayonnaise - it is way to cloying. I don't mind some tartare sauce with certain foods; with fried foods i much prefer a chilli or hot peper sauce.

Um, yes, of course! I eat pommes frites with aioli and mayonnaise all the time. I can't help myself.

I hate mayo, but I do love fried food dipped into creamy sauces. Unforunately (actually maybe fortunately!) I can't eat fried food. It makes my stomach burn like crazy.

ewwwwwwww! I hate hate hate mayonnaise. I once got a philly cheese steak with mayonnaise on it and I freaked out. On french fries? Way to spoil a perfectly delicious food.

Actually in southern Louisiana we have our fried fish, shrimp or any seafood with a sauce of mayo, ketchup and mustard. It may sound gross and it's not healthy at all, but it's really good. Sometimes I'll put chopped onions into it too.
