Do You Prefer Cakes or Cupcakes?

Some people are just cupcake people - they love the personal-sized portions and cute decorations. While others are cake people - they love the extravagance and decadence in a great cake. So how about you, which do you prefer?

partysugar: my Nanny said I can share that 14 layer cake recipe, now all i have to do is get her to copy it for me! I will ask for this as my b-day cake this year, so once that happens (end of July) I will also post a picture!

ive been looking all over for a white light cake mix type of cupcake but they dont sell cupcake mix here in this country. does anyone have a recipe for white cupcakes that isnt heavy with oil and egg yolks? fluffy?

I chose cakes. I've never figured out how to eat a cupcake without getting frosting on my nose. Maybe my mouth isn't big enough? At least with a slice of cake you always use a fork. That being said... I just made chocolate cupcakes. But that's because I'm bringing some to my mom and my grandmother this weekend, and cupcakes are easier to share!

I love cupcakes best! I just find it really hard to finish a cake.

i think there's more versatility with cake. with cake, you can have layers and maybe buttercream in between, with a completely different frosting. that's not really an option with cupcakes. but i DO love the peanut butter chip cupcakes at sprinkles. that's why it's a toss-up for me.
