Chocolate truffles are essential to the holiday season, and while there's nothing like opening a beautifully wrapped box of store bought truffles, I also enjoy the process of making the rich treats at home. Which kind do you prefer eating?

Godiva (or should i say GODAWFUL...) is made by Campbell foods. Would you like some Campbell canned soup with that? Boxed chocolates are good for gifts like when you do not know someone well and you need a sealed gift...like for teachers,coaches ect. If I like someone I will get them actual handmade chocolates. There are so many great small local chocolate shops there is no need to buy chocolate with preservatives and a 1 year shelf life.

I prefer store-bought chocolate and my favorite is Ferrero Rocher. I'm craving some!

Locally, I live in truffle heaven. With Just Truffles (one of Oprah's favorite things a few years back) and B.T. McElrath, among others, I am soooooo all set! :drool:

I like the store-bought ones better, actually. They always have such yummy fillings in them that I can't make at home.

I like mine- and the fact I own a chocolate shop is even better. They look hand made I don't use the chocolate molds and my customers really like that they say it has more of a home feel.
