While some people prefer to save entire magazines, I greatly enjoy ripping recipes out of a glossy. Then, I file the recipes away in my large collection. How about you?

I stick them in a folder and occasionally thumb through them again.
i've done it in the past, but i don't really do it all that often now. i feel like i see great recipes, but i just don't get motivation to really do much with it otherwise.
I mostly print out from online now, like those delicious fudgy salted peanut butter brownies from the superbowl party on here! they were so good I made them for my party and we won the superbowl! woo hoo!!
It depends on the magazine if I keep the whole thing or not. When I do tear things out I started binders w/ page protectors to file different articles. I even categorized them into sections like beauty, recipes, health, fashion, and interviews. I'm weird- yes.
Yes. I have a binder/recipe book that I file them in by categories. It's so much easier than having STACKS of magazines in my kitchen.
no, i keep the magazines with the recipes i like near the kitchen (in one of those cupboards in the dining room)
If it's in a cooking mag, I won't tear them out. I'd rather keep the magazine intact and keep the whole thing. But if I see one that I like in a non-cooking mag or newspaper, I will definitely rip it out.
I will usually rip out low fat/low cal recipes I find in Self or Fitness. I keep them in a folder and use them the very few times a week I cook.
I usually find the recipe on the magazine's website and download it onto my laptop. No need to physically have it on paper if it's electronically stored.
It's easier to cook when you don't have a whole magazine in front of you.
I used to rip out the ones I like but found that then I just had stacks of ripped out unused recipes. Now I do what Stacey Cakes does which is find them and then book mark them online (I use del.icio.us) which I regularly check when looking for something to make.
dumb question alert: for all you who store recipes online, do you set up your laptop in the kitchen when cooking?
Through my teens to my early 20s, I subscribed to 3 cooking magazines and kept every Dining In section of the NYTimes. I found that it was hard to search for recipes that way. A couple of months ago, I cut out all recipes I liked and glued them to plain white paper. I've organized the sheets according to the type of dish and ingredient and now I have 4 binders of recipes. I love it. I also store some recipes online and I bring the laptop into the kitchen. I cover the keyboard with a clean rag just in case.
I rip everything out of magazines, I then organize it into folders. I hate having a bunch of magazines around. when I find a recipe that I really like, and use several times, I make it permanent.. lol I use software that allows you make your own cookbook, and you can either print it out on laminated pages, or you also have the company print it out, bind it and send it to you.
Yup. I rip them out with the intention of eventually scanning them to keep it all in one place.
Syako, that's not a dumb question, it's in fact a very good one. I myself have a 9.8 in laptop that I take in the kitchen with me. In fact that laptop is my life, literally since I bought it I carry it with me everywhere, I have my food log on it, my To DO lists, my shopping lists. It's so small that I can watch TV and review my lists and add more tasks etc at the same time.
Other friends of mine have little TVs in the kitchen that are wirelessly connected to their computers, thus allowing them to access recipes or whatch a show when they cook...after all, we spend so much time in the kitchen (those of us who love to do it and like to eat well) that it would be a shame not to be able to watch news or a show or even browse Internet while there...I guess it's a little bit closer to the kitchen/house of the future, which will have everything integrated.
I save the whole magazine, usually. Especially if the recipe has something else on the other side of the page. But if I find a good recipe online, I'll add it to my favorites folder and look it up when I want to make it.
I do this too!
I rip recipes out of Real Simple a lot and put them in my "recipe binder".
It depends. Sometimes I will rip out recipes, but a lot of times I keep the entire magazine. I sort of hoard magazines. Unfortunately, this means my house may just look like the periodicals section of the library...
i do this all the time with recipes that i feel like i might make. im always printing recipes off websites like yumsugar lol
Instead of ripping them out I make a photocopy and put them in a folder.
And syako, sometimes I do bring my laptop in the kitchen! But more often I've printed the recipe out.
I've got a couple of magazines I keep, generally these ones I find a heap I want to cook from each issue...although if I continue to do so for much longer I will need to rethink my strategy but in general I just tear out the recipe. I paste or copy them into a scrapbook then tick or cross them out as I have cooked them and add any changes.
