Do You Shop at Ethnic Markets?

When it comes to food shopping, I buy the bulk of my groceries from Whole Foods. However, I love to hit up San Francisco's ethnic markets for specialty items. The Asian markets on Clement Street are a great resource for quail eggs and fresh crab, while the Latin grocers in the Mission District are full of chilies, legumes, and spices. Oh, and piñatas! How about you? What do you like to buy at these stores?

Yes I do because they tend to have cheaper produce compared to chain grocery store. I have been doing this for a couple of years ever since I noticed that I was consuming way too much processed foods and not enough whole foods. Plus I live in a food desert so I have to drive a bit to get quality produce and meats.

Of course! Though i guess they're not "ethnic" for me because I'm Mexican lol. My favorite "Mi Pueblo" they have everything there from Pan Dulce to Mole and all with loud Mexican music playing through the speaker system!

I go to the Asian market mostly. Mainly for coconut milk, thai curry, noodles, kim chee and produce. It's WAY cheaper to buy these types of items there then at a reg. grocery store.
