Do You Snack While Making Dinner?

On Sunday night, when I was making myself dinner, I realized that I always have a small snack while cooking. Whether it's a couple of olives and a glass of red wine or a chunk of cheese and a cold beer, the snack tides me over until the main meal is ready. I think it's because I love appetizers, but whatever the reason, I'm wondering if I'm not alone. Do you graze while you cook?

All the time, always some of whatever I'm making. I rarely eat a whole portion of what I made.

Pickles, crackers, bits of whatever I'm making (especially with salad or tacos) or if I'm starving, a half sandwich with pb&j or cheese.

i second the hummus and crackers. or some cheese and a glass of wine.

I used to, but have found myself doing most of the work in the kitchen. I don't have time to stop and snack. I may drink water though.

I don't get out a whole separate snack. I just graze on whatever I am making.

I snack on what I'm cooking, especially if I'm chopping veggies.

I'll pop a few olives when I'm cooking, or snack on prep stuff like veggies.

I usually nosh on a few baby carrots while I cook. Or I'll drink a vodka and soda. Nothing too heavy.

I am too frenetic when I am making dinner to taste anything, even when I am talking to others noshing in the living room. At dinner parties, every so often, I love to take a minute or two and dash in to be sociable...and to take a nibble. In those cases I almost always have a glass of wine or a cocktail but forget to drink it until the meal is almost ready!

Nope, it ruins my appetite. I eat every 4/5 hours anyway so I can wait.

Def when chopping veggies, I always cut a little extra cos I know I'll eat them before they make it into the meal :) But I don't get out a whole separate snack if I'm already making food, just pick at whatever's in front of me (plus wine, obvi)...
