Do You Swallow Your Gum?

Apparently Molly swallows her gum every time she chews it. According to her fiance (who's a doctor) and FitSugar (who says only sugar free is hard to digest) it's a myth that chewing gum will last undigested in your stomach for seven years. I still never swallow my gum and always have a small piece of paper on hand to spit it out in. How about you, do you swallow your gum?

I rarely chew gum but when i do i keep the wrapper and when i'm done with it i put it in the paper and throw it out.

I always swallow mine- every piece. I've never been able to figure out why people thought it is gross or weird. I think its much worse to throw it away- spit it out, find something to wrap it in, and then find a trash can. Too complicated.

As strong as stomach acid is, there is no way it will make it past your stomach intact. I always swallow my gum. I hate finding wads of it everywhere....trash, grass, sidewalk. yada yada....it is just so much easier to swallow it. And I have also chewed it until it disentergrates, or loses elasticity. It takes a long while, but as far as I know, it has to do with the rubber breaking down, or something. It happens to all gum, I think...after hours and hours.

I rarely do, but my boyfriend does. I had him swallow mine once to and I think since then, he's stopped!

I never swallow my gum (because I always believed that myth - silly me!) and I don't let my friends swallow their's either! :)

Gross! I've actually never heard of people *willing* to swallow their gum, and I'd never even think of doing that. Chemicals, anyone??

Wish I could chew it (specially between smoke breaks) but it kills my jaws. Whether you spit or swallow, enjoy your gum girls!!

i used to swallow my gum when i was a kid because i thought it was cool! haha..but i don't do it anymore unless i swallow it by accident

one time when I was a kid I didn't have anywhere to put my gum and was afraid to swallow it, so I just kept chewing it. It eventually disintegrated in my mouth - which tasted horribly disgusting.
