Do You Use Recipes Written In Paragraph Format?

I hate it when a recipe is written as a story with the ingredients in the paragraphs. Example: Combine 3 cups of flour with 1 stick of butter, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. It drives me insane that I have to search for the ingredients and I absolutely refuse to make anything from one of these recipes. Am I the only one who is bothered by it? Do you use recipes written in paragraph format?

i need to triple check amounts when i bake/cook so i just can't function with a paragraph recipe!

If I'm interested in the recipe, then I'll paraphrase. I will write it out into simpler terms. I hate the long recipes, just give me those ingredients!!!!

sometimes, what i'll do is just copy and paste the recipe (if it's something online) and just split it up on a new document. it's a bit extra work but if the recipe looks worth it, then i'll do it.

I like the ingredients listed then they can be in paragraph from after that.. I like to know what I need without having to read it all

Bullet format is so easy to reference, but if a recipe is worth it, or sounds worth it, then I'll suffer through the paragraph!

I just rewrite all the ingredients, annoying but the recipe is usually worth it.

I get mine online and then I cut & paste them into Microsoft Word so I can change the ingredients I want (to make it healthier) and break it up how I like it... 1. Intro to the dish. 2. Ingredient list. 3. Step by step instructions. I like it organized!

If I ever receive a recipe that way and I know it's something I'll make down the road, I rewrite it because that's just annoying. And I always screw something up when it's in that format.

If it looks like a really yummy recipe, I'll go through it and list the ingredients seperately like they are in what I'd call a "normal" recipe. But it's got to be a really good looking recipe for me to be willing to bother.

when i'm cooking i like things to be written out individually. those recipes that are written as a story/paragraph take too much time to deciper.

The format drives me nuts - without fail, I'll miss something in my shopping. I will try these kinds of recipes, but only after I've re-formatted them! The most upsetting encounter I've had is when my long-awaited and very expensive Larousse's Gastronomique cook book - the Bible of French cooking - arrived and the entire thing is in paragraph form ... and with metric measurements! It's lovely on the bookshelf, but gets very little use.

I am a firm believer in mise en place. Recipes is paragraph form make setting this up very difficult, so while I will try recipes in this format I really don't like them.

I do when I come across them but I prefer the other format with the instructions numbered or bulleted.
