Dunkin' Donuts Hopes to Cash in on Starbucks' Closures

Don't forget, your local Starbucks is closing this evening. From 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., they will be closed for retraining purposes. To take advantage of this closure, rival Dunkin' Donuts is offering small lattes and cappuccinos for 99 cents today from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. So if you need your caffeine fix, head over to your nearest Dunkin' Donuts. DD sucks! tast like dish water! SB has some of the highest employee retention rate for this industry. Venti just means 20 oz.

I mentioned there are 10 Starbucks within a 100 mile radius of my home, but I forgot to mention that I live in a rural area! (True!) lol:)

This is so hilarious! About time Starbucks gets their act together and train the staff. Such high turnaround there. Plus I've had the worst coffee/service from Starbucks than any other cafe. I've go to a DD & support if I was near one. I still prefer Peets or a city local spot.

I only got to DD for the donuts and muffins. But I have a huge Starbucks fan but I gave it up for Lent. I have both Starbucks and DD on very other street where I live. So I could go to DD, if I drank coffee.

I'm in Manhattan and have 5 within a 4 block radius of where I live. I also have a Dunkin' Donuts right on the corner. But Starbucks is only going to be closed for 3 hours. I could be wrong, but I don't think the average person is going to seek out a Dunkin' Donuts in those 3 hours.

There's only 10 Starbucks within 100 miles of you? There are ten within 15 miles of my home, plus that many just in downtown Pittsburgh (about 25 miles from me). I agree, overkill...but thn I don't drink coffee let alone Starbucks. Love that commercial!

I would love to try the DD latte, if there were a DD within an hour's drive. Alas, such is not the case. There is a surplus of Starbucks, though. Within a one-hundred mile radius, there are 10 Starbucks! Overkill IMHO, even though I enjoy their product as an occasional treat. Good luck to Dunkin Donuts, their gimmick is rather cute. :)
