Although it's bittersweet to let go of Summer, it's exciting to welcome Fall. Instead of backyard barbecues with brats and hot dogs, we're moving on to swanky parties where you get to slip on a little black dress, sip Prosecco from a fancy glass, and mingle with adult friends. Seasons aside, my favorite way to serve food at a party is always with several one-bite hors d'oeuvres my guests can just pop into their mouth while still chatting away.
These little prosciutto cups are the perfect appetizer for any cocktail party and involve one of my favorite Fall ingredients — figs. Right around this time of year, you start to see figs grace the aisles of pretty much every grocery store around; they're sweet, plump, and absolutely gorgeous to look at.
What's great about these little guys is they're a cinch to make and come together in mere minutes. Thin sheets of prosciutto are tucked into mini muffin tins, and baked until crispy. After they cool, a little dollop of goat cheese is nestled into the bottom of the cup and then topped with chopped figs. Finish each prosciutto cup off with just a tiny drizzle of balsamic vinegar or honey.
