Roasted Figs Are Simple and Scrumptious

The other day when I was at Whole Foods, I couldn't help but notice the arrival of fresh figs. When figs are in season, I like to take advantage of the delicious fruit and serve it as an uncomplicated, but decadent appetizer. All you have to do is pop them in the oven until soft and juicy. They're wonderful on their own or even mixed into a salad.

I think they're best when topped with cheese and drizzled with honey and balsamic vinegar. I used goat cheese, but gorgonzola or ricotta would also be great paired with figs. Entertaining couldn't be easier when you serve them on a rustic wooden board with a glass of chilled Rosé. To delight your loved ones with roasted figs, learn how to make them now.
