Eggnog: Love It or Hate It?

To me, the arrival of eggnog in grocery stores seems to officially signal the holiday season. I'm a huge eggnog fan and couldn't imagine December without it around the house.

It's definitely a seasonal beverage with a festive reputation, and a thick, ultra-rich taste. So, tell me, where do you stand? Is eggnog one of your favorite holiday treats?

Hood makes a lower fat version that I bought this year. It's 55% less fat but still manages to taste pretty good.

I love egg nog. It's perfect with bourbon, pasteurized eggs, and freshly grated nutmeg.

Plain milk makes me gag, so there is no way I can handle the consistency/texture of eggnog. I hate it so much.

bleh, i can barely stomach a sip of the stuff, let alone a whole glass. It's way too thick and creamy for me.

I love it! My husband recently insisted on trying sugar cookie eggnog, which I thought was gross. Then a little later he came home with eggnog to surprise me and to make up for the sugar cookie weirdness... but he chose vanilla eggnog! And that was weird too, but not as bad. I'll just take plain old regular full-fat eggnog, thanks! Turkey Hill brand, preferably.

I love it if I can block the calorie count out of my mind while drinking it. It's like drinking melted vanilla ice cream. Yum!

I loove it, and I wish I didn't because it really is pretty thick and overly sweet and bad for you. But I still love it though.

The Kahlua pre-mixed eggnog jug is FABULOUS.

I don't love it, but maybe that's because I've never had the real deal. When I was a kid I kind of liked it, but as I got older I thought it tasted way too sweet and thick.

I love it, but I mix it with skim milk so it isn't so thick! Yum!
