Eggs by Disney: Love It or Hate It?

Disney recently came out with a line of eggs. The special eggs have Disney characters stamped on the outside of the shells. I'm not against having designs on the outside of my eggs, but I can't help but feel like the ad is a little misleading. It could give the impression that the eggs will crack into fun Mickey Mouse shapes.

However, if I were a little girl, I would really want an egg with Belle on the shell. Watch the video below and let me know what you think of Disney's farm fresh eggs.

Its a good way to get kids excited about eating eggs and everyone seems to be overlooking the fact that they are better for you than generic eggs. If you don't like them then don't buy them... so what if you don't look at the shells when you eat eggs. I bet some people do

I like the IDEA. It has to be a more convincing way to get kids to eat their protein. But I agree, it's a DIY thing.

oh good idea aimee, just stamp your own... you could make pooh eggs, dora eggs...spongebob eggs. Disney selling eggs is ludicrous.

I think it's cute but I agree it is just another reason for them to over charge for having their logo stamp on the egg.

It's a cute idea, but I would never buy it. You can just as easily put any stamp you want on your eggs, right? @superfoxml: in Europe at least, people eat a lot of hard or soft boiled eggs in the shell, so kids would occasionally see the stamps.

So...kids typically have their eggs made by their parents right? And they wouldn't likely see the ingredients laid out for the meal before it's made....so how zany and fun can an eggshell get for a kid? The packaging is insidious....Disney's just got to get their grubby little mouse hands all over everything, dont' they.

We got these b/c my daughter went nuts she saw them and wanted to run right home and have an egg. For once in a while, I don't see the harm. I agree with misogi about a Disney shape coming out of the shell! And they are Egglands Best eggs, which is what I usually buy anyway.

Is Disney feeling the credit crunch? I am all for kids eating healthier but do we really need to put pictures on our eggs? I don't think so.

I don't really see the point of Disney doing this because people wouldn't buy them that often. Most likely they would cost twice as much as regulat looking eggs. Eggs are eggs. It's not like the egg is going to fry up looking like a Mickey Mouse head, like in the video up there. I mean you could buy something to make that shape just like they did of course. But on another note they are cute for the kiddies to use when they want to practice making breakfast or baking with their parents.

That's completely ridiculous. They have their hands all over marketing plenty of stuff as it is. Do they really need to go into dealing with live animals? It seems like they're just begging Peta to come along and tell everyone how horrible and inhumane and family UNfriendly they are because of the hens' living conditions. Even if they're comparably well-treated, Peta can spin this to make it come out looking poorly on Disney. These will not last, this is a waste of time for Disney, and this is generally pathetic.
