For citizens of Colorado, an alternative eatery is serving up some serious baked goods — in more ways than one. Ganja Gourmet, a new restaurant in downtown Denver, offers old favorites like pizza. Only in not-so-typical fashion, all the food is legally laced with marijuana.
Ganja Gourmet, which is also a medical marijuana dispensary, has an extensive menu that features paella, lasagna, jambalaya, cheesecakes, all rendered with some reefer. Oh, and — you guessed it — pot brownies. At the progressive restaurant, which features live music, couches, and a bud bar, staffers don trippy tie-dye tees, and even offer courtesy rides home to, um, sated customers who feel they aren't in a state to drive.
I can't say I wouldn't be curious to check out the place, although, at $10 for a pot brownie, the edibles aren't cheap. (Personally, I think the price of $4.20 seems more fitting.) Would you ever visit a restaurant like Ganja Gourmet?

Errrm, no, I'm not about to end up high, hungy and bankrupted by a restaurant; we all know the green gives you munchies and if that food's laced with it, then that defeats the point of eating it in the first place.
1*hungry*
2heck yeah! although it's always best to test the strength of your edibles before you go eating a whole meal
3would i go?.....move aside!
4lol, this is just a few blocks from my apartment building. I don't understand how this is legal? Would clients need a prescription or is it just very lax?
5like I need an appetite stimulant?
6Yeah, I've been to a few places like that... Man I love Canada
7i would love to go
8LOL, pot dispensaries have been popping up here in the Front Range like crazy lately, our local indie paper just hired someone whose job is to review them, a restaurant seems like a logical next step. This is funny, but I probably won't stop by there for a while.
9LOL $4.20 for a pot brownie! But there is no way I would EVER go to a place like that! EVER!
10Just put a bacon wrapped dog wagon on the street outside...this vendor will make mucho munchie bucks!
11Hells yeah.
12My only problem with this is that eventually you are going to have to drive home. Usually with a designated driver there is one responsible person who doesn't drink alcohol for the night, but how do you invited someone to go out to dinner and expect them not to eat.
13They really should partner with a cab company they'd make a bundle.
the place offers safe rides home for victims that are too inebriated. i think this is a wonderful idea. marijuana is the best medicine, and too many people wont give it a chance.
14******i dont know why the computer corrected me...but i wrote patrons, not victims. stupid stupid spell check
15How is that legal??? I hope people that wander in without knowing are warned that their food will be laced with drugs!
16sounds like a place to visit. . . but i would be careful just exactly how much i would eat. MJ and I do not have happy times.
17No way. I don't care if it's legal or not; it seems sketchy to me.

The irony!
19LOL at the $4.20 price. I would try it out but need to have a designated driver. How do they make it legal?
20Well, now I know - take my brother to Colorado for his birthday!
It's legal because you can't get in without ID, like in a bar - no medical marijuana license, no admission. So it functions as a completely legal dispensary - I couldn't just walk in and get a brownie to go. I think it's a good idea, actually. A lot of people with chronic pain could benefit from medical marijuana; it's not for everyone but could be very helpful. Offering it in an alternative form for non-smokers is a good idea, so they still get pain relief.
And you don't *have* to put it in fattening food .. you could very easily make a pot salad dressing, as it just needs to be reduced in fat. Pop it in some olive oil and have salad munchies!
21To the people asking if this is legal and want to know how this is possible.....
You are idiots. You need a medical prescription prescribed by a doctor then again by the state of Colorado to enter. THAT is how it is legal. So NO, some Joe Blow Idiot such as yourselves can not enter the property and Suzy Stupid, doesn't have to worry about someone "lacing" her dinner without being told.
It is a fun way to obtain your medicine. If you don't have a prescription then please stop contributing to the ignorance about medical marijuana that most of society unfortunately has. Especially on a public forum. Everything is done by the book and I can confidently say that no one who does not belong there will be walking in on accident either.
What amazes me the most.....
You are on the freaking Internet to come here and read this article, yet you have not used Google or MSN to research the real world around your sheltered and ignorant bubble. Perhaps once you do, you might have a handle on how all this works and finally realize that it has nothing to do with you or your paranoia.
