Wishing you were on a tropical vacation? Might I recommend Costa Rica? I was fortunate enough to spend the Winter holidays there in Tamarindo. While I enjoyed plenty of beach time, I also made it a priority to eat and drink at as many restaurants and bars as possible. Here are some highlights from my trip!

my boyfriend was in tamarindo (and other parts of CR) over winter break as well! but he told me the local food sucks. it was his second time in Costa Rica, and both times, he's been disappointed with the food.

I love Costa Rica and have traveled much of the country. When my hubby and I were married we chose the Caribbean coast for it's diverse culture of Tico, Jamaican, and other influences. Our wedding week featured fresh snapper and patacones at the rehearsal dinner and gallo pinto, ceviche, jerk chicken, and grilled pineapple at the reception. I love the Caribbean for what you find, including world class Tuscan as well as Argentine grilling, it has it all for me.
