Comice (pronounced "co-MEECE") pears are uniquely shaped with a rotund body and a short neck. They are thin-skinned and green in color, sometimes with red blush areas. The variety is succulent, creamy, and very sweet. Comice pears have earned special recognition as the Christmas pear, often starring in holiday gift baskets.
