Are you aware that August is National Catfish Month? Sure, the catfish is funny looking and it's not at the top of the ecosystem's food chain, but its delicate flavor and texture more than makes up for its appearance. Take a minute to appreciate the catfish by testing your knowledge below!

Hushpuppies are basically deep fried cornbread. Mine are quite fluffy and tasty, if I may say so myself.

Wow I've never heard of catfish curry. But I love me some fried catfish. Mmmm.....

My dad is a big hunter and fisherman and "runs catfish lines." There were lots of fried catfish avaliable in my house growing up. Once I realized how dirty the fish is I gave it up. I couldn't bring myself to putting trash fish into my body any longer.

I grew up in Oklahoma where noodling is a common activity but always disliked the almost-dirty taste of local catfish. Recently I visited my mother in Mississippi and ate some of the most tender and delicious catfish ever! :drool:
