Guess the Chocolate's Filling!

I'm sure you've heard what they say about a box of chocolates: you never know what you're gonna get. But this month's Martha Stewart Living includes tips for identifying boxed chocolates, from peanut bumps to the jagged profile of chocolate-dipped coconut.

That's why I'm putting the saying to the test with a heart-shaped box of chocolates from one of my favorite confectioneries, See's Candies. Can you tell what's inside a chocolate by its bumps and squiggles? There's only one way to find out!

3/5 I'm generally much better at this with regular flavors. For example, the rule for the brands I eat without maps is generally: smooth milk choc. cubes = caramel, smooth dark choc. cubes = chocolate cream (either ganache or garamel), smooth milk choc. ovals = thick coconut or nougat, smooth dark choco. ovals = cherry or raspberry fruit cream, slightly dark choc. circle = peppermint. The rest are usually obscure flavors or they have nuts in them, which I don't bother eating.

4/5--when we were kids, we used to take bites of chocolates, and if we didn't like them, put them back (it was a family box--someone else would eat it). we didn't like a lot of them. then we started poking our thumbs into the bottoms, which was deemed more appetizing than taking a bite. and then, in our stockings one year, we got Sneak-Peeks (Sneak-a-Peeks?), which extracted a little core sample from the bottom. I don't know where my mom found them; I've been on the look-out ever since! (I know others who could use one, too!)

0/5. :rotfl: . I was half-correct on question 2 and 3; I knew the former candy was buttercream and the latter had cherry. However I chose Chocolate over Mocha, and another Cherry choice over the more complex option. Well, I may s*ck at guessing which candy is which, however I sure enjoy treating myself to them!lol. The coconut and buttercream candies in a Russell Stover box are my Favorite. Yum!

"3/5 - if they had a photo of scotchmallow (marshmallow on top of caramel covered in dark chocolate) - I would have gotten that one without thinking. these required thought " Oh my God yes! They are the most delicious and distinctive.

I got 0/5!! Say whaaat? Okay so I haven't had a box of chocolate in a couple years, I guess it's time for a reunion. :) I'm still a teenager, I can burn the calories off quickly...I hope. lol.
