Like muffinmaggie at #9 above, I am from Latrobe, PA.. An effort is underway, where Dr. Strickler created the banana split in 1904, to purchase and restore the Strickler's building. See the Strickler's Drug Store Project facebook page to participate and for updates. Please encourage others you may know who have an interest in the banana split to join us in this effort to preserve a historical building, create a museum and help to revitalize the downtown business district of Latrobe.

I'm actually from Latrobe, Pennsylvania and was taught in high school that the banana split was created in our city! In addition they have banners up commemorating the first banana split, Mr. Roger's birth, and Arnold Palmer. Wilmington, Ohio???

If chocolate syrup doesn't go on the vanilla scoop, why is it shown that way in the photo? And on which scoop is the chocolate properly served? Not complaining, just clarifying so I'll know in the future...:) :drool:
