Caliza's 2006 Syrah won several important awards at the competition, but I preferred the bold smoothness of its sister wine, Azimuth. A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Tannat, and Alicante Bouschet, this well-bodied wine is highly drinkable now and also suitable for aging.

Do you remember seeing Windmill Ridge Winery? They were invited to pour their Portugese wines. They have an amazing port like wine and their '04 and '05 Cabs are very tasty and only slightly over priced.
