Have You Ever Eaten Stone Crab?

Before last Friday, I had never enjoyed the succulent, meaty Florida favorite that is stone crab. I could not get enough of this delicious delicacy! How about you?

Yes - so sweet and delish! But it must be super-fresh, otherwise the meat is flaky and dry.

I didn't eat much crab growing up, it was expensive and for special occasions. I've only had King Crab leg. Now I'm a vegetarian, so no crab for me :)

The people who catch Stone crabs are allowed to tear off both claws leaving the Stone Crab with no way to protect himself or anyway to feed himself.To me this is cruel.I would like to tear off both of the arms of the people who do this and see how they like it. I have not eaten any Stone Crabs since the game commission people passed that law allowing crabbers to tear off both claws leaving the poor crab helpless and at the mercy of predators. I have seen stone crab legs up as much as $30 @lb ...That means the shell is half the weight .Which means that you are paying $60 dollars a lb for crab meat. Wake up people and get a life. I myself would rather eat Lobster meat for $19 @ Lb.

I grew up in Miami and one of my favorite memories is my dad bringing back stone crabs from the keys and cracking them on the back porch.They are so good!!!
