I'm good about turning the oven off, but I accidentally left the gas leaking from the stove. Luckily my roommate came home and smelled it. Now I always double and triple check.
A roommate and I left a frozen pizza in the oven one night after the bar. When we woke up we had what looked like a large hockey puck steaming in our oven. Thank goodness nothing happened!
no but ive left the (gas) stove on. came back after a few hours out and the entire house was SWELLLLTERING. i couldnt even touch the counter next to stove, it was so hot.
One time in college I put some bread in the dorm oven and forgot to set the timer and had to leave in the middle of chemistry lab to run across campus and get it out. Luckily my lab partner
covered for me!
I usually very good about turning off my appliances. But with a new apartment and a new stove it takes some getting used to. I accidentally left it on 'warm' over night. Thankfully, nothing
happened, but now I always triple check the darn thing to make sure everything is off.
I have never left the oven on before. I was trained hardcore by my mom to turn everything off especially anything that has to do with the stove or oven.
At christmas we were serving my fiance's parents. The soup was done a little early, so we put the stove top on "low" until we were ready for it. Washed everything, went on about our evening.
Woke up in the morning.. the stove was STILL on LOW! Thank goodness nothing happened, but who knows how much we paid for that!
Looks like I'm only the second one to respond, "Yes! And I started a fire!" =x It was technically the toaster oven, but I left some food in there once when I was in college, and forgot about
it (CSI is too engrossing), and the next thing I know, my roomate is yelling "FIRE!!!!". Luckily, it was a small flame and she scooped out the offending chicken and hit it until the fire was
gone.
I've never left it on with food in it, but I have accidentally left it on too long after I took my food out of it before. Nothing happened; it just got really hot in the kitchen.
Uh if youre oven has flames isn't it gas powered? The igniter is usually electric but is there some sort of new fangled thing I don't know bout? or was the commenter just being sarcastic. I
admit I have left the oven on but its been when I'm home and never for long. I'll grab cookies or something and forget. So I think the max has been an hour. Bad yes but not like leaving the
house. At least that's how I choose to see it lol
I went to a concert and left a lasagna in the oven! When we got home I was all like "it smells like pizza in here... OH NO!!" The lasagna was about 2 mm high and totally totally black.

Yes, I have. Nothing happened, but it got real hot in the kitchen, that's for sure.
1Yes...however, I've never actually left the house with it on by mistake.

4i feel like i may have once, but i know that my husband actually did recently and i got upset with him because our oven is powered by gas i think.

7nope never, my grandma used to always check twice to make sure it was off, and now i do the same.
8I once left the broiler on for over a week when I was out of town. Seriously.
Luckily, nothing happened.

15Such a bad habit.
I used to do the same thing with my flat iron too! I just get so
distracted...
16...especially with the stove. Freshly baked food can be so distracting!

19I've never left the house with it on, but I've gone to bed and came out in the morning to a very toasty kitchen.
20I do it all the time! But I usually catch it within a few minutes or my mom will turn it off.
