To save some time and to be able to cook tomorrow, I'm making the cranberry sauce and the pumpkin carrot squares tonight. My sister wanted to do the cheesecake this year and she's has a 6
hour drive tonight so she called last night asking for help on how to make it The
main dishes will be prepared tomorrow.
soniabonya, i'm making pumpkin carrot squares tonight too! fit's recipe, right? I'm
also prepping veggies and making stock otherwise all the cooking's done tomorrow.
Not yet...doing all the chopping and prep tonight so things are ready to go tomorrow. My in-laws are celebrating potluck style. I got assigned salad, which I thought was very weird (my family
has never once served salad on T-day!). So to show off my skills, I'm making two and a pie to boot...
Nope, waiting until tomorrow here too. This year I don't have too much to make - Thanksgiving is just me and my fella. For once, I'm not roasting a whole turkey or even a turkey breast,
because we always have too many leftovers to go through and the bf isn't big on turkey to begin with. So instead, I bought sliced, roasted turkey at Wholefoods (and some roast beef for him),
and just have to whip up the stuffing and sweet potatoes, open the can of cranberry sauce (I'm old-school like that), and heat up the gravy and pre-baked apple pie. Considering that I usually
go much bigger and do everything from scratch, it's going to be a very relaxing day tomorrow.
Yep, I made shoofly pies today and I have the homemade cream of mushroom soup, fried shallots, and steamed fresh green beans ready to assemble tomorrow for the green bean casserole. My mom is
making the rest of the stuff at her house.

6mamasitamali, you are more than welcome to come to my Thanksgiving if that is the hostess gift!
I'll start cooking today when I get off work.
7Nope. My family is still arguing over what's going to be on the menu, so I'm on stand-by until the menu is finalized.
8starangel & Kim, I'd be happy to oblige
this famous NYC lox place is literally a 5 minute walk from my apartment, it would be robbing my family members of a delicious experience if I did not
9mama, please bring it to my house as well
yummy!
I am starting the brine and pies tonight when I am done work (or um commenting on sugar), but otherwise it begins tomorrow!
