I bought the Amy Sedaris book for my mother after being shocked how she found me watching "Strangers with Candy" and laughed with me. It's a hoot of a book.

Sometimes the hipsters are right, Mission Street does have the best food in SF! I haven't tried the baconnaise, but the bacon salt by the same company is killer on scrambled eggs!
