What Are the Hottest New Restaurants in Your Town?

Around 42,000 new restaurants open each year, and Spring seems to be award season for the ones that experience immediate success. This week, online reservations site OpenTable released a list of the nation's 10 hottest new restaurants, and they include everything from Stephanie Izard's Girl & the Goat in Chicago to Cleo in Los Angeles.

I was surprised to discover that no Bay Area establishments hit the top 10, despite OpenTable's strong San Francisco base. Still, it was fun to review it, then create my own mental list of the city's buzzed-about new restaurants. What, in your opinion, have been the most exciting openings in your town?

Went to Girl and The Goat over the holidays and it was absolutely amazing! Stephanie had such a creative menu and i loved the funky bread selections that she changes up daily.

Haute Dish in Minneapolis has been getting really good buzz. Their specialty is taking good old fashioned Midwestern comfort food--think mac and cheese and tater tot hot dish--and putting unexpected spins on the dishes. It's on the "must try" list! :feedme:

Hecho, a Japanese sushi and tequila joint, just opened downstairs of our office. I'm really curious to try it out!

I agree on Beauty & Essex, it is quite the establishment and has been a hot topic since it opened. Kenmare I've heard is nothing spectacular and Lavo I don't think should be on the list at all. It is an Italian restaurant but is more well known by its nightclub downstairs. Traif in Brooklyn deserves to be on the list for food alone. The name means unkosher and it's tongue in cheek because everything the Jewish chef, Jason Marcus, serves up is pork and shellfish based with a few vegetable/vegetarian mixed in for balance. It has been a hot establishment since it opened Spring of last year with no signs of dying down. Can you tell I LOVE IT!?!? haha
