Remove the Root Ends

Bundle together the leeks so that the ends are lined up and trim away the roots in one clean cut. If you're working with many leeks (more than 5) it may be easier to do this in groups.

Anon 2 yea.... those are definitely scallions. Leeks are much much thicker.

I do the same thing except I clean mine in a salad spinner which makes it a little easier to get all of the water off of the links! Great photos and great tips!
