Make sure the bottom of the cob is flat. If it has a round tip, slice it off. Hold the cob upright on the board. Run a large sharp knife down the side of the cob cutting off the kernels. Cut as close to the cob as possible.

A bundt pan works brilliantly. Place the corn cob upright into the hole of the bundt pan, scraping with a knife downwards. The hole of the bundt pan holds the cob firmly and safely in place and the corn kernels fall nicely into the bundt pan!!!! Win Win!!!! Its like magic!

when i was a kid i always made my mom slice off the corn in slabs, we called them crackers :)
