Corn on the Cob: Love It or Hate It?

Recently I attended an event where one of the food stations was offering corn on the cob. For some reason, I had no desire to try it and avoided the guy who was handing out foil-wrapped cobs at all costs. That's when I realized that while I eat corn on the cob (I prefer white corn), it's definitely not my favorite Summer side. How do you feel about it?

I love it but its soooo messy. I always feel like i have kernels on my face or stuck in my teeth!

I like it, but I love the corn from my country. I don't know what it is about American corn, but it doesn't taste the same. I still like it though.

I should be ashamed to admit (:-)) that I love corn on the cob so much they call me beaver or hoover in my family. Because of this I go off to a corner and eat them out of site and never in front of dates.

Where I come from we eat it boiled only, with butter and salt on it, and omg it's so delicious I can't wait til it's out! One more week to wait it's early this year :)

I looooove corn on the cob! I love it almost as much as I love my children! I can't imagine Summer without it!

I like corn products (tortillas, chips, grits, polenta, etc.), but not corn.

It's not really one of my favorites. I try to have corn, sometimes (mostly off the cob) just for variety & preferably organic non-GMO.

Growing up as an Iowa farmer's daughter, I've eaten my fair share of corn on the cob :)

Oooh, I LOVE it!! We have about 1/4 acre garden on our farmland, so we always put in some sweet corn. Of course, we don't get quite as much as a big grower, but it's SO much better! And it's totally organic and because we basically pick it and eat it right away, it's so much tastier than anything you can buy.

Corn on the cob can be yellow/white mix, yellow, or white. Not sure why this post infers its only yellow.

Love! And being the country girl that I am, I grew up picking and packing corn. White corn was ONLY "cattle corn" (AKA feed) somehow it was treasured amongst the elite??? Yellow corn is so much sweeter and milkier. :drool:

For me, it's so reminiscent of wading through cornfields, seeing farmers at the side of the road selling sweet corn out of the backs of their pickups, sitting with mom cleaning the ears off before supper...wouldn't even matter what it tasted like because I always associate it with happiness of the simplest kind. Maybe it's because I'm from Nebraska. We take our corn on the cob pretty seriously. :D
