Actually Diamond, tea is way more popular everywhere BUT the States!
I like my iced tes of various flavors depending on my mood anything from lemongreen to roobios I use tea leaves from Tavalon and I double up on the amount (it's usually one teaspoon to 8oz
water)I prepare the tea otherwise as usual in a french press and then pour it over a bunch of ice in a pitcher once it's done steeping.
yum perfect for summer!
Funny you should post this yum. I just made a pitcher of iced tea last night!
My parents are from the south and my mom and grandma make the sweetest iced tea ever! Sometimes its so sweet that I have to dilute it with water! I hate that you can't get decent sweet tea
anywhere in the North so I only order it at a restaurant if I'm in the South. But I also like flavored iced teas too. Its great on a summer day!
I'm addicted to Lipton's Lemon Iced Tea. So yummy! But the iced tea from Dunkin Donuts or McDonalds (which taste the same to me?) taste really gross! Ugh.
My Nanny's homeade tea is amazing. It is southern style sweet, but she slices up 2 or 3 lemons and places them in the pitcher while it is still warm and then cools it in fridge...not quite
like tea with lemonade (which I love) but it is SOOOOOOOOO good!
Strongly brewed sweet tea, so it doesn't taste weak when the ice melts...or an Arnold Palmer to quench my thirst on a scorching day. I don't go for exotic or fake flavored teas...weird aftertaste.
Strong and unsweetened. I think I'm one of the few in Texas that doesn't like sweet tea.
I grew up on generic instant tea - Kool-Aid and sodas were too expensive for my family - but I've grown out of that. Now I use 4 tea bags to make one large (52 - 64 oz "BubbaKeg") at a time.
I go through four or five of those a day.
decaf if I can get it that way, and unsweetened. Then, I add a couple packets of Splenda. I LOVE old fashioned brewed sweet tea like my grandma makes, but she always used lots of sugar.
I live in Texas and don't like sweet tea. [Although last night I was having a discussion that the way to make sweet tea is to pour a couple cups of sugar in before you pour the hot tea in
your pitcher so it dissolves.]
I am a southerner, but my dad ALWAYS preferred unsweetened tea. So when my mom would make tea (sometimes she'd do sun tea, sometimes not) it was always 100% unsweetened. It was at my
neighbors or grandmother's that I would get that killer sweet tea.
Now, I prefer it unsweetened with lemons & sometimes mint! (Weird, I know). If I am visiting someone and they have the super-sweet tea, I sometimes have half a glass, because it is yummy,
just too sweet for me to drink very much!
Stong sweet tea for this Carolina girl! Put in a squeezed lemon slice and you're good to go. The best thing about going back home is getting my normally H20-only fiance hooked on the stuff.
I was in Alabama this weekend and I was pretty surprised to discover that the mythic "sweet tea" that all my southern friends rave about is, in fact, just ordinary sweetened ice tea. Yummy,
but still, it's just iced tea, people!
I love to drink hot tea but I really don't like iced tea at all- sweetened, unsweetened, flavoured, etc! Same with coffee, I'm a coffee fiend but I never drink iced coffee! I guess I just
like my "hot drinks" hot!
I love tea, I'll have it hot or cold, exotic flavored, or with different wedges of citrus but always with no sugar. Tea is a part of my family's tradition, being served at every meal. My
favorite tea is blackberry green tea, so fruity it doesn't need sugar.
i usually just put splenda or something like that in my tea, however depending on where i am i might adjust. when i go to my fiance's family's house in Texas, they have sweet tea so i have
that - and it's not like the super sweet tea that they have in the south - it's probably from a mix so you know what i mean. i also like the 1/2 tea 1/2 lemonade combo. i started having that
a few years ago and it's a nice variation.
I make fresh brew sweet tea daily. And as mention earlier... you do place the sugar in the pitcher first before you pour the hot tea in... then add cool water. It makes all the difference in
the taste of the tea to get all the sugar to dissolve. It also taste better if given the chance to cool a bit before serving.
@bunnychick In the northern US "iced tea" is unsweetened. In the Southern US "iced tea" is sweetened, and not like you're used to either it's sickly sweet. I remember the first time I had to
make it at the restaurant I was working at and they told me for the silver drum thing I needed to add 4 CUPS of sugar. hehe
I like sweet tea, no lemon. There is no better way to ruin a great glass of iced tea than to throw a slice of lemon in, or on, the glass. The only pre-made sweet tea that I'll buy is Red
Diamond, Lipton and all the other packaged/canned teas are so gross. I also like the sweet PEACH tea from Sonic!

I don't really drink lots of that stuff.
But I heard that like EVERYONE in the states drinks it haha! Espeically in Texas...is that true???

2yum perfect for summer!
iced tea is so gross.
3Ice tea is delicious! Or at least down here it is, I tried it up north and didn't really like it.
4I grew up on sweet ice tea and love it.
5It depends- usually sweetened, but I do love an Arnold Palmer (half tea, half lemonade)
6love it! i'll take it any way..
7Arnold Palmers are my fav!
8Funny you should post this yum. I just made a pitcher of iced tea last night!

What? I don't have a problem.....
13Recently, I've been drinking Lychee Green Tea and it's very refreshing on hot days.
14Here in Canada when you get an iced tea, it is always sweetened. I made the mistake of ordering one in the states and got cold plain tea. Ugh!
15Yum!! I am drinking iced tea - unsweetened green tea - right now.
16bunnychick: I was about to say the exact same thing! The States is weird about iced tea.
17I either drink peach tea (Crystal Light mix) or McAlister's Sweet Tea. Super yum!
18decaf if I can get it that way, and unsweetened. Then, I add a couple packets of Splenda. I LOVE old fashioned brewed sweet tea like my grandma makes, but she always used lots of sugar.
19I like Litpon's Diet Citrus Green Tea cold. Does that count?
20I have a weakness for Nestea iced tea. It's super sweet, but I LOVE it.
21I picked other because I like it all the ways listed. What can I say...I am a southern girl and love my tea.
22I love "Honest Tea" - just enough sugar to make it taste good, but not sweet. They make this Pearfectly White Tea that rocks my world.
23w/ 2 Sweet'N Lows and lemon
24extra sweet with mint -- I don't like lemon in my tea.
25I don't like iced tea and I don't like leomonade. But I love me some Arnold Palmer!
26I live in Texas and don't like sweet tea. [Although last night I was having a discussion that the way to make sweet tea is to pour a couple cups of sugar in before you pour the hot tea in your pitcher so it dissolves.]
I drink it with on Sweet 'n' Low and some lime.

28PS. I can't really do hot teas. Unless I am sick. Then I can do hot green tea with honey.
29I'm probably one of the few southerners who does not drink iced tea. I drink a lot of hot green teas.
30Stong sweet tea for this Carolina girl! Put in a squeezed lemon slice and you're good to go. The best thing about going back home is getting my normally H20-only fiance hooked on the stuff.

35Arnold Palmer all the way!!!!
36I like mine with like, two packets of NutraSweet and a dash of lemon juice. Oh, and LOTS of ice.
37I dont like ice tea, but since they've started mixing it with lemonade, I can tolerate it. I also like the fake kool aid stuff mixed with lemonade

39I like raspberry, peach, mango iced tea.
40Unsweetened and with lemon. But I'll pretty much drink the stuff any way, I love Iced Tea.
41I was born and raised in the south. I loves me some sweet tea.
42where I'm from there is no such as iced tea!! It's sweet tea or nothing at all :truestory:
43I like the lemon flavor so I chose mixed with Lemonade

46for all you ice-tea haters, WHY!? ice-team is extremely refreshing and delicious!
