Like Shoneyjoe, my family and friends have done this forever. Folding then unfolding the corners down first assists in making the indentation in step 5.

I make mine into a little hat/boat to rest my chopsticks :) as soon as I sit down with my friends/family, everyone hands theirs over so I can make them for everyone!
