Kelsey Nixon, the perky blonde contestant on the fourth season of the Next Food Network Star, is getting her own show. In the November issue of Utah Valley magazine, she discusses her new role at Food Network:
I've been approached by so many production companies, but I think Food Network is the route I should go. I'm working on a project with them right now β a web show about teaching cooking basics. . . My co-host on the show is Spike Mendelsohn from Top Chef and we have a great time. I'm the one to do the 'by-the-book' classic methods, and he uses crazy ingredients from all over the world.
The show will be a part of F2 a new website the Food Network is launching in early 09. According to Kelsey they plan to shoot 65 episodes and have wrapped filming on the first 13. This is an interesting move for Food Network and I definitely look forward to checking out the chemistry between bubbly Kelsey and spastic Spike. What do you think of the unlikely duo?

Ted Baker
huh - that's kind of interesting. it looks to me like they realized that it's good to have someone that's young and new on the network in some capacity and i think that if people realize that spike's her cohost, then there will be a draw from the Bravo folks too since we all loved him on the show.
1Did Aaron's show already get cancelled? I thought Lisa Garza should have won.
2I think it's an interesting pairing. I really like the idea of web shows, too.
3I LOVED kelsey, I so wanted her to win, I'll probably watch the webisodes more than the TV shows!
4I'm with fleurfairy, I totally thought Lisa Garza should have won. I kind of feel the same way about Kelsey and Spike, they're slightly annoying, but I'm curious to see how they work together. She's only been to culinary school, is she knowledgeable enough to teach cooking basics?
5Ahh kelsey was my fave from next food network star, and spike my choice from top chef - so I will def. be tuning in. They might help balance each other out too.
6Oh I couldn't STAND Lisa. I don't understand her appeal, she was so FAKE! Doo, what did you like about her? (Seriously, I'm very curious LOL) I just felt like she was always talking down to everyone, that she thought she was better than everyone else.
7Awwww, right on! I loved her.. she was really cute, and I think she deserves her own show. I couldn't stand Spike though.. but maybe he's outgrown his b*tchiness by now?
8I like this! I'll definitley tune in.
