Now that we're into the month of April, Easter is right around the corner — and so is, Passover, the Jewish holy festival that commemorates the liberation of Israelite slaves from Egypt. The seven-day holiday, which is one of the biggest holidays on the Jewish calendar, requires adherence to strict dietary laws. Do you know which foods are kosher for Passover and which aren't? Marshmallows definitely come kosher for Passover! Seriously --- I deserve my 8/8 - especially since there are a lot of marshmallows made that way year round!

Haha, and just realized what a jacka$$ I am ... Marshmallows must be made with corn syrup, thereby making them NOT KFP (I'm talking regular marshmallows here, btw, not KFP ones) ... I don't know why I just 'assumed' they'd be made of sugar. Maybe that wouldn't work ... I guess I shouldn't pretend I know the ingredients of foods I don't eat ;)

Marev- It's the corn syrup in most commercial marshmallows that makes it not kosher, not the gelatin.

The only I got 'wrong' was the marshmallow question. However, wouldn't it depend on whether your meal is meat or dairy?! If the meal being served is meat (which I believe most people's Pesach dinners are), then marshmallows would be KFP, just like they'd be kosher accompanied by any other meat or parve meal/food. I demand a refund!!!

Whoa, Mousie, chill there. It's just a quiz, not "Guidelines for Aspiring Jews." Of course every branch of Judaism has different traditions but there's no need to behave like that. It looks trollish. As for myself, 8/8! Pretty good considering I'm Catholic and barely know the dietary guidelines for my own religion. Well, okay, I guessed some.

YEah! There are KFP marshmallows and KFP noodles with which to make Mac and chesse. I believe Quinoa IS kosher for the majority and so we're just waiting for someone to make Quinoa beer!

Yeah, I got 7 out of 8 because of the marshmallows. Check out Joyva Kosher for Passover chocolate marshmallows. I've been enjoying those for many years. So feh on your test!

this test is completely inaccurate and irresponsible, most of the foods in question with the exception of cheeseburger and beer CAN be kosher for passover. its ALL in the matter of how the food is prepared and what sect of judiasm i.e. ashkenazi vs. sefardic. sefardi DO eat rice on passover while ashkenazi do not. I am eating kosher for passover marshmellows as i write this. COMPLETELY IRRESPONSIBLE and messaging INCORRECT information. SHAME ON YOU!

Question 8: Macaroni and cheese Your answer: Kosher for Passover Correct answer: Not kosher for Passover Since pasta is made with flour, it is not kosher for Passover. I disagree

7/8... i eat halal so many of the kosher rules apply.. cheeseburgers are never kosher!! lol.

Well, the rules differ- if you're Sephardic, corn is ok, so candy made with corn syrup is kosher for passover. Ashkenazi Jews don't eat legumes, corn, rice, etc. because it is too similar to chometz grains.
