Let's Dish: What Wines Have You Been Drinking Lately?

It wasn't until a trip to the doctor's office, where I was asked how frequently I drink, that I realized I've been drinking a pretty pour of wine these days. Since Summertime travel hasn't yet begun, and Fall crush is well over, Spring seems to be prime wine tasting season. That's perfectly fine by me; in all my recent sipping, I've ventured into previously uncharted wine territory. Lately, I've been obsessed with Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noirs from New Zealand, and the one label I can't stop quaffing is Kim Crawford.

I'm with Roaringsilence-Moscato is awesome! I like Barefoot brand.

We had Twomey's Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc this past week and loved it, so we stocked up on a few bottles. If it would just warm up a bit more, I would be cracking one of those open.

3 great wines that are all under $10: j. lohr seven oaks cabernet - wonderful... one of my favs grayson cabernet - a little lighter then most cabs, but still delish folie a deux menage a trois - a delcious blend of cab, merlot and zinfandel (which i usually hate, but it helps balance this blend) happy sipping!

Another fan of NZ Sav Blancs; especially Oyster Bay. A friend was having a white Burgundy that was excellent - need to ask her what kind it was.

Jamescreek Vineyard 2005 Zin. So delicious. It's not in stores in the south bay, had to order a case from the family own vineyard up in Pop Valley. So worth it. Also have been drinking Gilroy's Rapazzini's Almond Champagne. By far my favorite champagne ever. And then whatever comes in the mail from San Diego's Witchcreek Winery. All very good wines from the Zins to the Barbera. I think my favorite has to be the Tempranillo.

I am a HUGE fan of Kim Crawford. Her 2008 Sav Blanc was much better than the 2009, but its still pretty good. For similar NZ Sav Blancs, check out Cloudy Bay and DogPoint Vineyards - both excellent. Great Pinot Noir - Carmel Road, California

Huge, huge fan of Cupcake Vineyard wine, any of them, they are all amazing to taste and I love the little blurbs on that back that demand you eat flourless cake or steak with fresh parsley and potatos on the back, cracks me up.

I don't drink wine very often but, while making my way through Total Wine to find a bottle to gift my dad, I came across Washington Hills Late Harvest riesling and fell in love. It's so tasty! Typically I either drink cab or riesling, depending on my mood, although the monthly tastings at a local wine room have expanded my horizons a bit.

I've been drinking a lot of vinho verde. I'm sort of going thru a Portuguese phase. But I also am into sparkling and Rosés.
