Let's Dish: What Is Your Signature Dish?

At some point in every reality TV cooking competition the contestants are asked to make their signature dish. The dish should define their culinary point of view, highlight their skills as a chef, and be incredibly delicious.

Summing all of these things up (on one plate!) seems like a difficult task. I find it hard to choose one dish that represents my entire cooking style. However, if I had to choose, it would probably be some form of nachos with a cocktail on the side. In my opinion, nachos are the ultimate party food!

i make some pretty good soup, if i do say so myself, and i always have requests for my vegetarian chili in the winter. my hand blender is almost worn out from winter soups (potato, broccoli, butternut squash). i don't think i am always very original, but i usually tweak the recipes i find and make them my own.

Butternut squash risotto, or cheese soufflé. They look fancy, and seem laborious, but they are actually pretty simple and satisfying!

My signature dish is easily Fondue. I learned the "technique" from my best friend who happens to be Swiss. Nothing but the best. And then I found the best Kirschwasser on the face of the planet when we were up on Washington for the Cascade Crest 100 miler (DH LOVES him some Fondue after a big race) and now the consensus is that the fondue is even better than before. My second signature dish is a lemon cream risotto, which tends to be a holiday favorite, particularly tasty pair with bacon wrapped green beans for side dishes. Now I'm hungry. Now, if I were to choose a meal that represents me - SUSHI all the way. Sushi and a good beer, that's what I should have engraved on my headstone. *snicker*

My signature is a rosemary hummus pita with roasted red peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, sprouts, lettuce, and spinach. Best sandwich ever. I also like to make cilantro hummus, which is perfect in the summer.

You people are killing me. The pork chop and apples, blackened steak and bleu cheese - puleeze - they all sound so yummy and it's just too hot to cook in CA today.

My homemade tomato sauce with meatballs, lasagna and quesadillas. I make a ton of both chicken and steak, both marinated and make several different types with all different insides and cheeses.

That's a tough one! I would say my signature meal would either be pesto and goat cheese stuffed chicken breasts or blackened steak salad with blue cheese, roasted bell peppers, sauteed mushrooms, onion, and toasted pecans. That's my husband's favorite!

Chicken curry, a green Thai style I inherited from my British grandmother who grew up in China.It's an event when I make it. Also the entire classic Thanksgiving menu:Turkey with homemade stuffing and giblet gravy.

definitely my different variations on Amy Sedaris's vanilla cupcakes, complete with my own buttercream&cream cheese icing. Then my sweet noodle kugel or my chocolate cakes (with Ghiradelli ganache and fruit preserves.

i guess my signature dish would be hot wings. everyone loves them- perfect for watching the football game on sunday afternoons...

My signature dish is pan-fried porkchops with glazed apples. I "cure" the porkchops for about 15 min by rubbing them with a brown sugar,salt, and rosemary mixture. Then I fry them in a tbsp of bacon grease. When the chops are done, I remove them and add the apples to the pan with some apricot preserves, chicken broth, and a splash of brandy and let simmer for about 10 min until they become glazed. It's soooo good:)!

My cupcakes, definitely. :) My mum reconnected with an old schoolfriend recently, because she started working at the archives where I have a student job, tried my cupcakes in the staffroom and found out who I was. The power of baking!Otherwise, it would be baked sundried tomato falafel, which I make all the time.

One of the few things that I bake is apple crisp, but only during our wonderful apple season. I brought one to a birthday party last fall, and the guest of honor threatened to pummel anyone who was even thinking of taking the last piece. Aside of crisps, though, I pretty much universally suck at "sweets" baking. If there is one person out there that can fork up frozen cookie dough, I'm your gal!

well in my house i'm well known for my chocolate mousse... also i made spaghetti with everything... shrimps, a la putanesca, with some huitlacoche (very mexican of me)
