Lime Bomber: Love It or Hate It?

Everyone knows lime is a must have accessory for a Corona. Without the lime, the Corona is just not as good and can even appear naked. Although it can be messy jamming an oversized lime wedge into the bottle, I'm not sure this lime bomber — an interesting contraption that plunges the lime into the bottle for you — is completely necessary. If I saw a bartender using it, I might actually laugh. What do you think of the lime bomber? Is it one hundred percent practical or totally and completely laughable?

Limes are incinerated when the recycling is done. If limes are cut that small as to not need a good squeeze before shoved into bottle = not much juice released. Thousands of people buy these cause they like to release the juice w/o getting it into their eyes...it also catches the beer if it foams up. Its also a good way to serve a beer w/o putting your fingers all over a guests beer. But of course if you use a wimpy piece of lime-there isn't much beer displaced...

I will get this when I can afford to put a 50 foot bar in my house. Guess that means I will need a bigger house. That's why I play the lottery.

Interestingly enough, I'm drinking a Corona right now, and I think this "gadget" is completely unnecessary. Cut the limes small enough, and there's no issue getting them into the bottle.

I hate this only because my family recycles and it's impossible to get a slice of lime out of a bottle of Corona. And limes aren't recyclables. :-(

i like a ridicululous gadget if it's fun or attractive or well-designed, as long as it makes the task at hand easier. i just cut the limes small enough to fit into the neck of the bottle, so i say no to this.

Come on...its not hard to get that lime wedge in at all. A completely useless and uneccessary piece of glass/plastic/whatever in my opinion.

I love it and would definitely use it! Corona is pretty much the only beer I drink in the summer. My friends love it too, so this would get some use at our summer get-togethers for sure.

As Alton Brown would say, it is a Unitasker and, therefore, has no place in MY kitchen!! (Although I do have a few unitaskers ... this one really serves no real need of mine.)
