While it's relatively simple to make, homemade gnocchi can be a time-consuming endeavor, so not many people make these doughy Italian dumplings from scratch. But the real deal is truly a fluffy, almost chewy delight and is amazing dressed in a marinara, pesto, or brown butter sauce. Have you made homemade gnocchi?

I tried the store bought kind because it sounded so good, I mean potato-pasta basically....but it tasted horrible, I ended up throwing it away. It tasted like nothing. I sautéed it in olive oil and Italian herbs.

I love it but often times out it has a cream sauce, I'd prefer other sauces. I haven't made it myself but I would like to someday.
I tried them once. They came out OK. They're not a favorite dish of mine, so I probably wouldn't bother again.

I have never even heard of it before, so...no! But it sure sounds good.
How timely! I just made Nigella's French-style pork chops last night with gnocchi. Usually I make them with Trader Joe's potato gnocchi, but last night the boyfriend brought home their whole wheat gnocchi. They were yummy, perhaps with a hint of honey. I'll definitely make the whole wheat ones from now on.

Made it just once. Took me some time and the whole counter was a royal mess = fun! lol. I'm still gathering courage to tackle a pumpkin version sometime. yum!

I never thought I liked gnocchi until I had it at this amazing restaurant in Vegas. It was sooo good and I can't stop thinking about it now! I would love to spend a Sunday making it from scratch!

It's tradition in my family (my grandparents actually are Italian) to prepare it on Christmas eve, just before going to church. Al the family members gather in the kitchen and help preparing the gnocchi.

No, I haven't, and I love it, so I will often order it in restaurants, but my boyfriend is really not a big fan so I don't make it at home (store-bought or homemade). Eventually I will, but since it's not his favorite, I don't bother going out of my way to make it.
