Marinade:
A seasoned liquid that is used to enhance the flavor of food. Meats, vegetables, and fish are soaked in the liquid to absorb the seasonings. Marinades generally consist of a mixture of dried/fresh herbs, spices, acid (vinegar, lemon juice, wine, etc), and oils. It's best to marinade ingredients in a glass, ceramic, or stainless steel container.
