If you were already contemplating the fast food chain's new Angus Third Pounder, here's another reason for you to drop in to McDonald's. The company wants you to try its new McCafé coffee drinks so badly that it's offering free McCafé Mocha samples in-store every Monday for the next four weeks.
Beginning July 13, the world's largest fast food chain will implement Mocha Mondays: between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., customers can order a seven-ounce iced mocha or an eight-ounce hot mocha for free. The promotion will take place at participating locations every Monday through Aug. 3.
According to corporate executives, this is one of the largest sampling initiatives the company has ever undertaken, and McDonald's anticipates giving away roughly 10 million McCafé Mochas during the promotion. Will you take advantage with a steaming hot mocha — or the cold version?

Cotswold Company
I'd go for the iced version, but there's no way I'm going to be standing in line for possibly hours for that. Yuck.
1i think that it's probably a good way to get people into the store. to be honest, i've avoided mcd's cause i'm partial to sbuck or DD but knowing that i could try it for free if i'm up early (which i am on mondays) then there's no harm!
2What a great idea! Sounds like a smart marketing move.
3Ugh, I've tried the McD's McCafe line on several occasions. It's bitter and burnt tasting. I'll pass and stick to my occasional splurge at Starbucks.
4no thank you i'd rather drink good coffee
5I actually like their mochas, they are bitter, but I like that in a mocha, I hate how they taste only like chocolate at some places (even the "good" ones).
I will probably get the hot version, I don't like my mocha ices, I only like it hot or frozen in a blended drink, like a frap.
6Wonder if they let you specify nonfat milk? I checked their nutrition info and their "small" mocha is a 12 oz, and with whole milk it is 280 calories and 11 grams of fat (nonfat is 240 cals/5 fat grams). Can you imagine downing a large, 20 oz whole milk mocha at 400 calories and 14 g fat? Moo!
7I think it is made with skim milk, at least that is what their ads said over and over again when yhey first came out, I will have to ask them next time.
The ad used to say "always made with skim milk just like i like it..."
8I'll take one, please!
9"bitter and burnt". Thank you! I have tried multiple varieties of the McCafe line and I couldn't find the right ajdectives to sum them up but that is it. So yeah no more McDonalds for me...it's back to Starbucks I go.
10I stopped by this morning with my son. He got an iced mocha and I got a hot mocha. The hot mocha tastes a lot better, and the size is just right portion for me. I thought McDonald is very smart on that - I know I am not obligated to buy anything, but I got a sausage McMuffin and a hash brown along with my free drink.
11Even though I love free I don't love 34g of sugar in one serving, no thanks.
12I like the hot mocha a lot and have been promoting it for awhile. Its at a good price compared to $bucks and FREE is Great.
13Went for free coffee on Monday when they had sign still up. They told me that they won't give any samples anymore. What's up with the sign then? SCAM!!!!
14Strange - I'm having my free one right this minute.
And they gave one to hubby also
- twofer - yippee!!!
