Muffin Top Tin: Love It or Hate It?

Ever since I saw this muffin top pan ($19.95) on Serious Eats the other day, I can't seem to get it out of my head. The author of the story, a self-professed muffin-bottom lover, employs the pan to make other things, like individual quiches, gratins, and tarts. I, too, have never really understood the allure of the muffin top, but after reading the descriptive uses for the pan, I kind of want one. What do you think of it?

I have this pan. It is great. Even better I got it at a thrift store for $3.00.

Are you kidding? YES - I love muffin tops! I need to befriend the muffin bottom lover so she can eat all the muffin bottoms that I don't want!

I don't love the price, that's for sure but I do love the pan. I thought about the things I could do with it and that's exciting.

Love it, but not for that price.

the muffin top is the best part, but here you are still going to get the bottom of the muffin top cooked with that texture that the muffin bottom has, so techincally there is still a bottom and it takes away the integrity of the muffin tops yumminess in my own personal opinion.

I don't mind muffin bottoms; sometimes they're better than the muffin tops!

In the past, I would have loved this, as I love muffins tops (more than bottoms). But these days, I make muffins with fillings, which I love more than muffin tops, so these won't work.
