New Cereal Box Size: Love It or Hate It?

The Kellogg Company released a new cereal box design earlier this week. It's a space-saving box that is expected to fit into pantries more easily. The eco-friendly design holds the same amount of cereal but uses less materials. It's currently being tested in Detroit supermarkets and Kellogg hopes the smaller, fatter box will redefine the cereal aisle. I think the new box is fun but wonder if the general public will dislike the unexpected change. What do you think?

The current cereal boxes sit on the floor in the closet with the vacuum cleaner as they currently too tall for the kitchen cupboards. I worry about insects so after 2 servings pour them into unlabeled Tupperware. So much for brand recognition.

I chose undecided, it looks a bit odd but I am all for space saving so I'm sure I'd get use to it.

I have no problem fitting the tall boxes on my pantry shelves, but I like that the new size is more eco-friendly.

i said undecided. i love that its more environmentally friendly but i can see how people would pass it buy assuming the smaller box means a smaller portion. kellogg would need to do some marketing making sure people understand portions haven't changed since so many companies now are raising prices and reducing the amount of product.

love it, less materials, the better... though i definitely agree with the fact that they should test it in NYC instead, as space is more of an issue here.

I am excited about this. My cereal does fit in one cabinet but the cabinet is soo tall (waste of space) that we want to put a shelf in there..this would allow us to do that!

Is it all Kelloggs Cereal or just Corn Flakes? Either way, I don't have any problem fitting regular cereal boxes in my cabinets, but if it creates less waste then by all means change it:)

Undecided. I think it would fit in my cabinets better, but I don't have a problem as is.

I love it. Big cereal boxes don't fit in most of my cupboards. I'd totally buy these.

I love it! I have an old house and the shelves in my pantry are really small and my cereal has to live in the only spot where the boxes fit, which is sort of on the bottom. And that is really a pain because only 2 boxes or so will fit there. If the boxes were shorter, I could put a lot more of them up higher and my whole pantry would be more organized. Cool idea!

I don't eat a ton of cereal, but I like it. Companies have been putting less product into boxes of the same size across the board. May as well save the extra cardboard.

Love it. Although I don't eat Kellog's cereals anymore. If I buy Corn Flakes the box is too tall to fit in my pantry then I look inside and see that the cereal only takes up half the tall box anyway. This change was a long time coming.
