Do you belong to the camp of believers who are convinced Starbucks's coffee is way too strong? If so, there's a new blend for you.

Enter Starbucks Blonde, a new "super-premium light roast coffee." It was unveiled in New York today and will roll out in Starbucks stores, and as whole bean, roast, ground, Via, and K-Cup packs in supermarkets as well, come January 2012.

Perhaps weak coffee will take off just like low-alcohol cocktails have in the past year. I'm curious to know: will the super-light coffee come with a lighter price tag as well?

I love the taste of Starbucks coffee. Not a fan of the elaborate drinks - just black coffee (hot or iced). I like the strength, so I probably won't try the Blonde. As far as price goes, if you just get regular coffee, Starbucks isn't expensive at all. If you like iced coffee, a tall at Starbucks is $1.85, a small iced coffee at McDonald's (Green Mountain) is $1.99, and a small iced coffee at Dunkin Donuts is $2.05... so it's actually the cheapest (although I don't know if the ounces are the same for all the "smalls/talls".

Not a big fan of Barstucks either--it's wicked strong and too spendy. But I will probably try a cup if I find myself near one when a coffee jones hits.

I like this idea and am interested to try it. I'm not a fan of Starbucks coffee because it's so strong (Dunkin' Donuts all the way...and it's cheaper), but I'd definitely give this a go!
