PartySugar Behind the Bash: The PopSugar TechCrunch Party Apr 15 2008 • By partysugar 0 0 Last Thursday night I had the wonderful opportunity to hop on a plane, throw on a fabulous dress, and head to a party. The party — a blowout bash hosted by TechCrunch and PopSugar — had 2,000 guests and tons of teched-out demos. To find out more about the party, click on the "Start" button. The Location What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 The party was at the Vanguard, a fabulous event location with multiple rooms and a large outdoor patio. The Set Up What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Before the guests arrive, the location is empty and cases of mixers are wheeled in. The Arrival What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 The Sugar girls arrive at the party and await their entry tickets to the Vanguard. The Door What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Before guests could enter the party, they had to be checked off a list. They were then given a red ticket and allowed to pass to the bouncer who checked IDs. Here, CitizenSugar and I work the door. The Food What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 The guests who arrived at the start of the night — the party went from 6:30 to 12:30 p.m. — were lucky enough to enjoy several passed appetizers. The menu consisted of grilled cheese and sun-dried tomato bites, cheeseburger sliders, spring rolls, and garlic noodles. The Drinks What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 While the bar was not completely open, guests were invited to enjoy complimentary beer, wine, Champagne, and two specialty cocktails. Forty-five fabulous gift bags — filled with a Flip camera, beauty supplies, and more — were awarded to the lucky winners at the party. However, five goodie bags remain and are being given away! The Upstairs What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 While the downstairs was filled with tons of people, the upstairs was perfect for lounging and mingling. The Sugar gals were happy to enjoy the lovely night in the large, palm tree-lined patio. The DJ What’s Your Reaction? 0 0 0 0 0 0 Perry Farrell from Jane's Addiction was the DJ for the party. He mixed old-school classics with current pop hits.
