Who needs the Food Network? Paula Deen sure doesn't! The Southern star will launch her own media outlet in September, called Paula Deen Network . The subscription-based service for computers, tablets, and smartphones will feature new videos of the butter queen daily, along with her sought-after recipes and cooking tips.
Since the catastrophic demise of her brand , Paula has been hard at work making a comeback. Private-equity firm Najafi Cos. invested between $75 million and $100 million to form Paula Deen Ventures . In February, she made a not-so-subtle return to the public (riding Robert Irvine, again ), and this week, she opened a store in Tennessee .
The subscription fees have not been released yet, but early registration for the network will begin in July via Paula Deen's website , and, of course, there is incentive to do so. Early registers will be automatically entered in a sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip to Savannah, GA, to sit in the audience of a live taping. Once the network launches, there will also be a free 14-day trial, so you can have your Paula and butter too.
