Peas: Love Them or Hate Them?

While I eat everything, there are a few ingredients that I avoid. One of them is peas, especially the frozen variety.

I don't know why I dislike peas, but I feel like they do little to a dish. They aren't super flavorful and bring to mind horrible elementary school cafeteria food.

On the other hand, in Spring, I enjoy fresh peas. How do you feel about them?

I enjoy peas, fresh or frozen (though preferably fresh, but I am not picky... in this instance. :P ) Are peas my go-to veggie? No, that goes to broccoli however I like the extra oomph peas add to a summer pasta dish or even salads and it makes an easy side dish to almost any meal.

I hate frozen peas (it is their lack of texture) but fresh peas are a completely different story!!!!!

Not crazy about them. The ones I had taste like baby food. Some people tend to overcook them.

Love them! Frozen peas are great for "cup of soups" I put them and corn in before the hot water, makes them a bit tastier for me. :) Add some cilantro just before you chow down.

I always ate my vegetables first during meals when I was growing up (Idk why), and I still love my veggies to this day. I actually like to eat peas while still in their frozen state, occasionally. Anne26 - peas actually have some protein in em! Fiber too I think.

I love them. Best food to eat when on a diet but never eat them at work if you don't want you stomach rumbling for the next 5 hours. :-/

I generally love all veggies, but peas were my least favorite. I continued giving them a try once in a while & I found that I like the fresh snowpeas the best! Also, you might want to try the baby peas. They can be difficult to find. For some reason, they taste better! :)

I don't care a whole lot for canned peas or the frozen ones, but I LOVE snap peas and fresh peas in the spring. They just lose all their texture when you can or freeze them.

When I was little my mom only served them by themselves, but now I love them in more unexpected/complex places. For example, at Cheesecake Factory they have a delicious creamy chipotle pasta with peas in it. The peas give a sweetness to cut the spicy and it's amazing. I pretty much never eat them by themselves anymore.

I hated them when I was younger because the only time we had peas was when it was from the frozen box of mixed veggies where all the veggies tasted exactly the same. *cringe* Now I only love them fresh and sometimes uncooked.
